Retaruke Country Lodge was originally built by Warren and Jen Bird in early 2000. The Lodge features mudstone cement blocks that were sourced from Nelson. Every detail of the Lodge showcase’s the couple's keen eye for detail and dedication to craftsmanship. The Lodge is now owned by Tim Hence.

The estate is set on over 5000 hectres of native bush, providing guests with endless opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the region. Walking trails meander through fields dotted with grazing sheep and along serene streams, offering stunning views of the distant mountains.
